Proposed Dwelling, Wellhouse Road, Beech

A three bedroom 2,300 sq. ft single storey dwelling, with a one-and-a-half storey feature octagonal entrance hall, a traditional sun room to back garden and oak framed double garage. 

 

To be built in traditional Hampshire brickwork with plinths, knapped flint panels and plain clay tile roofs.

 

Site lies immediately outside settlement boundary, and is currently being promoted for inclusion in the East Hampshire District Local Plan 2017 - 2036. 

 

'Oakwood', Beech

A 5,500 sq. ft. 2-3 storey new-build early 'Arts and Crafts' styled house set into the side of a small valley. Construction commenced in April 2017. The ancillary oak clad double garage with annex accommodation over was completed December 2016.

The main house is constructed in SIPS panels providing excellent thermal performance and air tightness, with the structural frame clad in red multi stock brickwork, with render and oak panelling and vertically-hung plain, club and fishtail clay tiles.

 

Slys Farm, Bramdean

Completed December 2020

 

A large single-storey side extension and alterations to a traditional C. 18th farmhouse in the South Downs National Park. The extension provides a large open-plan kitchen, dining, living room area beneath an impressive open vaulted feature oak roof structure. External walls are faced in brickwork / flint panels to match existing farmhouse. 

An existing barn was demolished and replaced with a new oak, 4-bay car barn with annex accommodation over.

Wellhouse Road, Beech

A large first floor extension providing a master bedroom suite by adding a third gable to the existing double gable arrangement. Much of the original ground floor structure and walls has been rebuilt following demolition of the original single storey structure which was in poor condition. The main entrance hall has been opened up full height with staircase to gallery landing.

 

Original period features have been retained and replicated, with new brickwork and plain clay tile hanging.   

'Hollyhock House', Anstey Mill Lane, Alton

A traditionally styled single storey side / rear extension providing a new office, shower room and utility which connects to the kitchen in the existing house. 

 

The site borders the Anstey conservation area. Permission was granted at appeal. Completed spring 2019.

 

Materials were carefully sourced to match the features on the existing house. The new elevation is designed to complement the existing back of house, giving a courtyard feel onto the garden.

Lenten Street, Alton

Demolition of previous peicemeal extension works followed by a rebuild of the rear elevation including alterations and new extension works to back of house, providing a study and a large open plan kitchen / dining room with roof lanterns over. 

11 Albert Road, Alton

A simple contemporary styled single-storey rear extension to a Victorian terrace house with a GRP 'warm-deck' flat roof concealed behind a parapet wall. Works include considerable structural alterations and opening-up of back of house.

 

Works completed in June 2017.

22 Avenue Road, Winchester

Extension to a Victorian period dwelling from 1890's and located in the Winchester's West Fulflood and Oram's Arbour Conservation Area, built against North View terrace retaining wall.

 

Replacement of an existing 1980's single glazed conservatory which suffers from damp and condensation issues with a single storey garden room extension and wide first floor balcony over with views across west Winchester.

Construction to commence summer 2018.

39 Kings Road, Alton

A single storey side / rear garden extension with a traditional oak car port to the front of the house, a boot room, a utility, a shower room and a home office with garden aspect. The front facing extension was designed to fit with the period of the original house and street scene, and the garden extension has contemporary feel, clad in cedar weatherboarding.

Heading 4

Oakdene, Rowledge

Alterations and side extension to a detached period Victorian property, which included a dining room, a study and alterations and enlargement of the kitchen.

 

A later follow-on permission added a traditionally styled orangery with roof lantern onto the original dining room extension. 

 

The design and materials selected sought to seamlessly match with the original house.

65 Queens Road, Alton

A loft conversion, adding a bedroom with full height feature roof light windows, accessed from a new staircase and landing, with large feature roof lights over and a shower room.
